This album showcases Tom Waits’ gritty concert at the Akron Civic Theatre, in Akron, Ohio, on 13 August 2006, during the Orphans Tour.
In the summer of 2006, iconoclast and reclusive touring artist Tom Waits made an unprecedented move by taking his always unpredictably stunning live show on the road, mostly in cities (Atlanta, Memphis, Louisville, Nashville) where he hasn’t been seen on stage since the mid-to-late 1970s. His son Casey played in the band accompanying him on tour.
With a performance spanning gravelly funk, surrealist blues and Americana, here, one of America’s most enigmatic songwriters rips through classics such as Make It Rain, Shore Leave, Tango Till They’re Sore and many more.
